Quercus at Queens University has successfully received funding through the Challenge Fund to carry out a citizen science project across all of Northern Ireland, investigating the distribution of pine martens and red and grey squirrels. Quercus hope to deliver this project in partnership with local red squirrels groups.

Some FRSG volunteers took part in a similiar survey last Jan-March 2014 also with Quercus. This survey will follow a similiar format, however, you need not have participated in last years survey.

This workshop will cover all aspects of the survey. The survey effort is relatively short and will need to be completed within 3 months, by March 2015. Its a great opportunity to get involved in a practical conservation activity, is rewarding and importantly contributes to our understanding of the distribution of some of our most iconic and endangered mammals.
